Paddock rumours at Brands Hatch suggested that Liverpool driver James Walker could miss the trip to Adria when the Superleague Formula season resumes in five weeks’ time.

The British driver, who joined the reigning Superleague Formula champions in the summer, is believed to be about to make his debut in the popular British Touring Car Championship and would be unavailable for the Italian date due to a clashing BTCC race meeting at Knockhill, in Scotland.

Walker has already tested a BTCC tin top, driving a Triple Eight-run Vauxhall Vectra at Rockingham in May, and could be about to commit full-time to the series. The 26-year-old has shown glimpses of his potential in Superleague Formula this season, but has been unfortunate with bad luck and reliability.

Liverpool currently sit 11th in the standings, while Walker has won €45,000 of prize money and has a best finish of 4th in the second feature race at Jarama. He was a race winner in Superleague Formula’s inaugural season in 2008 when he drove the Borussia Dortmund car to victory at Jerez.
