Superleague Formula racer Alvaro Parente will return to the GP2 Series this weekend at Spa-Francorchamps The Portuguese driver, who races for his boyhood idols FC Porto, will join Coloni in GP2 at the Belgian circuit as a replacement for Brazilian Alberto Valerio.

"I know the team and I think that I'll have the conditions to try to get some good results," said Parente.

"I'm looking forward to returning to Spa-Francorchamps and to being able to give some good results to Coloni so I can thank them for the trust that the team and the sponsors have in me.”

The deal is currently just for one round, with Parente expected to return to Superleague Formula action for the next round in Adria the following week.

"I'll race in Spa-Francorchamps, after that we will see what happens," he said. "I would like to complete the season, but that isn't in my hands."
